I Had a friend email me some pictures of Dubai, Of UAE and when I tell you it looks like Las Vegas on Steroids, mannnne! I had the pleasure of visiting this place back in 1989, and it was a sand pit, but now, you would not believe!

A friend of mine was working over there for the last several years. It's pretty amazing at least in the pictures I saw.
