that it's looking highly likely that PacMan will be a Cowboy.

At this point, it appears likely that Pacman Jones will get his wish of becoming a Cowboy. Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that he will join the Valley Ranch circus.

Would cornerback still be one of the Cowboys' top priorities?

My opinion is that the Cowboys need to draft a cornerback in the first or second round no matter what. They have zero depth behind Terence Newman and Anthony Henry right now. Henry is on the wrong side of 30. Newman is entering the final year of his deal and rightfully expects a contract in the DeAngelo Hall/Asante Samuel/Nate Clements range.

The Cowboys need to bring in at least two corners who can not only immediately contribute in nickel and dime packages but potentially be starters. Pacman Jones could be one of them.

Of course, the problem with Pacman is that you can't count on him staying out of trouble. Another off-field screw-up could mean the end of his career. He's a first-round talent, but the Cowboys have to plan their future as if he's just a regular late-round pick that they would have to give up to get him.

OK, that's my take, but possibly imaginary Valley Ranch sources inform me that Jerry no longer wants any advice from me and skips straight to the comments. Fire away.

That's bad news. People have a strange habit of getting shot when Pacman is around.

That's why they let Keith Davis go. They couldn't afford for the probability to go any higher.
