Ft. Stockton used to have it several years ago when they were 4A, don't know if they still do.

Abilene Wylie has swimming. I know because I remember the chicks on the swim team used to go about a month without shaving so that they could shave right before the meet to swim faster. It wouldn't have been so bad if they wouldn't have worn shorts!!

Actually, Columbia no longer has swimming.

From what I heard, the district wouldn't pay to use the city pool.

Wylie has a swim program, competing in 4A ... we've had some strong swimmers the past several years. I don't remember any state champs, but several swimmers/divers that went to the state meet.

Burnet has one of the nicest rec-centers I have ever seen and all those ball fields around....that's pretty first class.

Hutto started a swimming program this past year. They swim, I believe @ the Round Rock YMCA. They might add soccer very soon!!!!

Greenwood had swimming back in the day, but one summer some kid broke into the pool area and drowned. The pool was filled in and now the Elementary school sits on top of it!

In 21-AAA Silsbee is the only school that currently has soccer, and thay HAVE to compete with AAAA'a and AAAAA's in the area. Is that the case for AAA swim teams, as well?

I have heard Bridge City will have soccer next year, as well.

For schools that don't have either Hockey or Swimming, it seems you could combine the two, and have Underwater Hockey. It wouldn't be much of a spectator sport though!

Decatur to add swimming next year I believe. Their using the pool at the local rehab center. Don't know of any other swim program in their division so it would most likely be 4A competition like they do in soccer.

well sadly enough from when i was in school it was about 40/30/30 whites/blacks/mexicans as far as ratio goes...however it is mainly just the whites and blacks that compete in athletics, don't get me wrong, we have quite a few that run cross country...not tryin to be racist....just tellin it like it is
