West started the season with 5 straight losses to Joshua, Ennis, Waco High, Odessa and Red Oak. Since then, they are 8-1, with their only loss in that time frame to Cameron in the championship game in the West tournament. Since the Cameron loss, they have beaten Gatesville, Connally,Fairfield, La Vega, Lorena and Whitney by a combined score of 49-6.
