From NewsOK.com (Justin Harper):
Perhaps the greatest ending to a game in state tournament history featured two would-be game-winning shots in the last second and a 35-foot title-winning shot that will etch Callie Slate's name in Big House history.
Here's a look at how the final moments played out:
•0:27 remaining: Pocola takes its first lead since the 3:55 mark of the fourth quarter and completes a 6-0 run as a Callie Slate bucket makes the score 54-52.
•0:15: A Walters miss gives Pocola the ball with the lead. The first sign of tears appear on the Walters sideline.
•0:09.2: In a wild sequence, Walters' Cassadie Holybee makes a crucial steal, intercepting a pass to give Walters a chance. However, the freshman immediately has a pass stolen by Pocola. On the catch, standing right on the halfcourt line, the Pocola player starts to dribble when the official stops play. A carry is called on Pocola. The result is a combined three turnovers by the two teams in a matter of seconds and Walters has life — one more chance with the basketball.
•0:00.7: Walters' Vanessa Karpe hits a 21-foot 3-pointer and is fouled, giving Walters a 55-54 lead and presumably the state championship. 3 points
Walters players and coaches explode onto the court, mobbing Karpe.
In an incredibly misfortunate happening, the foul that was called when Karpe swished the 3-pointer resulted in the clock stopping with seven-tenths of a second remaining. Since time remained and Walters players were on the court, a technical foul was called.
After Karpe's free throw, the score was 56-54. Pocola would then step to the line and hit one of two free throws to make it 56-55. But Pocola would get the ball back with one final chance. 5 points
Callie Slate would take the inbounds pass and hurl a 35 foot laser giving Pocola the Oklahoma 2A State Championship. 8 points
