Nice pics!

The scene in Breakfast Club keeps running through my head.

The Jock - "I wear the required uniform"

The Geek - "tights"

:D

Whoa...he's tiny!!! Is that 3 plates on each side??? If so that has to be near double his weight.

I need to get one of the boys to look at the picture and tell me exactly how much weight is there. He was in the 132 weight class (123.5-132.5), so regardless how much is there, it's probably more than double. For some reason, I thought he and the kid from Sealy were in the 123 class.

He (the Navasota lifter) won State last year with 470 squat, 255 bench & 400 dead lift.

What's up with the location of the judges in these pics? Were they all 3 located in front of the lifter like that all day? That's terrible positioning to view depth on a squat, even lock-out on a bench, or whether the lifter has rolled his shoulders back on the deadlift. I just wonder what in the world these guys were doing hovering up near the lead judge. The side judges should have been right about where the weight trees are and the weight trees should be up top near the where the side judges are. I will say that the 625lb squat pictured is rather impressive. I get a little bit excited when I see someone take 625 lbs to within 6 inches of the floor and then procede to stand up with it! It's AWESOME!

I'm definitely no expert on any of this. One thing that he learned at one of the meets is that the shoulders no longer have to be rolled back on deadlift. The rest of it.....I have no clue. Sorry :(

Did Canady make the state meet with a 5th finish along with Brandon at 1st?

No, just first and second. Although from what I've read, 3rd and even 4th may be advised to attend in case of no-shows, etc.

Yeah - UIL does that for the sports like track, tennis, golf also.. They have alternates attend just in case of a no show since they are individual events which while unlikely, has happend... At the least if gives alternates the status and another excuse for a patch on the jacket...

Congrats to Canady for a representing and help making a great showing not only for himself but for LH

And Kudos to Brandon... Take state and bring back the tophy... I just hope we can find room for it in the case.. getting a little crowded in there :D

If a kid doesn't make his weight then he is DQ'd opening an opportunity for one of the alternates from said lifter's region.

I'll see what I can do. Any particular weight class you want? :D The reason I ask is because this is the first meet I've had the chance to see some of the boys classes.

Maybe the girl I saw at Taylor? Her t-shirt said "I can bench press more than your boyfriend". :D ;)

Yeah, and Jasper had one I just knew would be the first girl to play football for Jasper. Didn't happen though. I think she set all kinds of girl state records for most lifted.
