with most of the good companies locating to the round rock, leander and georgetown areas......you figure people would rather make the commute from thorndale which wouldn't be that bad.....all it will take is some old farmer to sell land to a developer.

oh i wasn't implying anything negative.....just thought that it is good that the community isn't feeling the growing pains that most towns north of austin are feeling.....maybe it's not as close to austin as i think it is.

Kinda thought this might happen. Kennedale has one heck of a team and they've got a bunch of guys that have been on varsity for 3-4 years now together. They should be a heavy favorite on Saturday. I don't see a way for Burkburnett or West Campus to knock them off.

Incorrect. Burk had little to do with it. Region IV is a joke when it comes to the boys state basketball tournament. Everyone other region wants to play them in the semi-final. They've won exactly ONE game in the last 12 years now and that came against Dimmitt who was probably the worst 3A team I've ever seen make it down to Austin. West Oso beat them 45-21 and then got thumped badly by Mexia.

Next year things should change though as Sam Houston should be the representative from region IV. They would have a legitimate shot to win state as well as being able to make annual trips down there for the next 6-7 years.

Sure wouldn't...Kennedale could've sent their last five guys off the bench and beaten West Campus. I guess I never paid much attention to 3A hoops. I would have assumed that there would be a few teams make it to Austin that were actually good. I never realized far inferior talent was the cause for one team winning two games and being crowned champion.

The point of this is region IV has no shot no matter who they play. Anyone who has actually attended these games over the years knows this. Last year Wylie got the bye into the title game and this year it's Burkburnett. You draw Region IV and you get an almost automatic trip to the championship on Saturday.
