58.5 in the open 400 meters Saturday at the Bulldog Relays last Saturday (15-20 mph wind) in Abilene. Pretty stinking quick especially for this time of year, and considering she is a 14 YR OLD FRESHMAN. Our lovely ARN is horrible about giving area results much less state results, but usually a time like this will be one of the better times in the state this early in the season.

I was one of the timers... she must of won by 5 meters or more--that little girl can flat out run! I've enjoyed watching her run for a couple of years now.

Speaking of that, I happened to run in to the Wylie girls' track coach last night, and we were talking about how girls sometimes never get faster than their 8th and 9th grade years. He said that alot of them get attacked by the "Killer B's"---- boys, butts & boobs. I guess he meant that the latter 2 slows them down and the 1st one distracts them.

From the girl athletes I have known getting involved with boys have been one of the worst things that has happened to their athletic career.

That's what happened to my daughter. She got so slow, we could time her with a calendar.
