yeah your probably right.....would hate to see them in there too early and fade at the end....I think they need to work their way and then work on staying in.

sweeps are hard to come by in the Big XII...esp. between texas, baylor and a&m.......cause one game is played on the road....with two at home...............that's a pretty bold statement the first week in march.

I prefer that the terms aggie or tu not be used here. But that is more of a preference and not a command.

probably not, but we do get 2 of the games in waco this year and only one there so i am hoping for a 2-1 series win.....Bears have a REALLY good team this year, they have the talent to be better than 2005 when they to the College World Series....

it'll be ok, Baylor lost ot La. Tech tonight giving up 5 runs in the 9th to lose 9-6...ouch...but no one has ever gone through baseball season undefeated anyway

good thing about this part of the season is that most of the better pitchers are on pitch counts, and alot of the younger kids are getting more playing time compared to once confrenece starts, it'll be a LITTLE bit different

Midweek losses no big deal esp. after a weekend of using up pitching in tournaments.

So how do they decide who advances to the postseason. Is it like basketball and whoever wins the conference tournament gets an automatic bid and then a committee selects the rest of the teams? I've been wondering for a while, but I didn't want to jeopardize my fanhood. Now, I've decided to suck it up.

yes, its the same procedure but its not a single elimination tournament...16 regionals 4 team double elimination tournament (normally top seeded team hosts, not always the case), then 16 super regionals best of 3 series (top seeded team hosts) and then college world series (8 team double elimination tournament)

Yeah, I knew that part. I just didn't know how they got in. I want to say I remember seeing Prairie A&M beat some team in one of the regional tournaments ac ouple of years ago.

yah, prairie view normally does pretty well but they have the unfortunate situation of almost always being stuck in Rice's regional as a 4 seed cause of the weak conference...one year they almost (and should have) beat Rice in the opening game but i think Rice came back and beat them in the bottom of the 9th or something like that...

In 2004, Texas Southern beat Rice 4-3 in the first game of the regional in one of the biggest upsets in the history of college baseball. Phillip Humber gave up a 3-run HR late to take the loss. In the deciding game versus the Aggies, Humber entered the game in relief and gave up a Grand Slam to A&M, giving the win and regional to the Ags.

Without the TSU upset, Rice probably would have gone on to win a second consecutive CWS title. With a trio of starters like Townsend, Niemann, and Humber, they were definitely the favorite.
