AUSTIN – Cassi Wright scored 14 points and Sam Wilson added 13 more to lead Jim Ned to a 55-46 win over Winnsboro in the 2A Girls State Semifinals on Friday at the University of Texas’ Erwin Center.

The Lady Indians, who trailed 38-37 at the end of three quarters, used an 18-8 fourth-quarter run to advance to tomorrow’s 2A state title game. There, they will face the winner of Woodville and Poth.

District 6-2a was stacked this year...any of the three teams that made the playoffs (Jim Ned, Wall and Ballinger) could have represented the region well at State. Jim Ned had close victories against Wall and Ballinger in the playoffs to get to state!

They played in the Girls FF tourney this year. It turned out to be a pretty impressive tourney with us, Diboll, Jim Ned, Bullard, and I want to say Robinson among the others
