Pirate boys defeated previously unbeaten Odem Owls at Pirate Field tonight. Winning pitcher was Anthony Trevino. He also had a two run homer.

Is odem good? Why would sinton have trouble with a 2a?

Odem usually fields good baseball teams and the rivarly between these two towns is fierce. I know they out hit us last night, but they also made 2 errors and gave up more runs then Sinton did! :D

ahh a local rivalry. anything can happen in those. I remember once we played at our local rivals in football, shut them down pretty good all night, and our band buses left with a few broken windows. LOL

Pirates and Owls have rumbled before on the diamond. They usually give Sinton fits no matter the record of the teams.

You have to also remember that Odem has also won State a few times even when they were in Sinton's district.

At least in Robstown they are just rocks, in Sinton you get shot at. Won't ever be able to live that one down.

Yeah, two of our finest citizens. Went and shot up the TM bus. :rolleyes: I forget what year that was...back in the 80s, I think.

That family is great, you have different ends of the spectrum. Some are the best people you will ever meet the others the biggest outlaws. Even the outlaws can be pretty good people too.

The best in each classification are pretty much on the same playing field athleticlly in baseball. Now in football and even basketball, depth is much more of a factor. In other words in baseball size dont matter. In football it does.

I had completely forgot about this game. Looks like Odem put up a pretty darn good fight, but they usually do. Good job Pirates. :)
