It disturbs me that the PI/Rice game played at Alamo Stadium was not announced to the public on any radio/TV/newspaper last week. No coverage of the game itself, only a line item on last pages of the newspaper with the score.

I am sure there are fans out there that would attend these playoff games if they knew about times and location. Which means more revenue for the schools.

Coaches and fans from PI/Marlin lets hit the media outlets with emails so that the fans in SA get the opportunity to see some great 3A football.

Some www pages have info, but it is not being mentioned in paper, TV, or radio.

You think that is bad. They barely even covered Bandera last year all the way to the state run and we lived only 40 miles away. It's terrible the way they treat the playoffs.

The SA media covered the Devine/Rice game at the Alamodome the week before. Channel 5 was there along with the newspaper. Michael Spears was featured in an article in the paper. Could of been because Devine is so close to SA.

Cheermom,

the SA paper had NO ARTICLE OR BOX SCORE from the Rice/PI game. Its only one of the greatest high school games in playoff history. AND it was held in their prestigious old stadium. I don't understand that logic at all. The Houston Chronicle had a good article but the SA paper had NOTHING.

I guess the SA media doesn't feel it's readers would be interested in the games. Still it is strange they didn't mention even briefly that the game was being played before it was played and at least a box score after the game. If I lived in SA I would want to know about it and would probably have attended.

All the San Antonio media cares about is San Antonio schools. Teams from SA that lost would get bigger and better write-ups than we would when we would win, like BULLDOGFAN said. They care about only a few teams. They are very biased.

Crow22, I said the media was there for the Rice/Devine game not the Rice/PI game. And I agree, that game was awesome, it just a shame that someone had to lose.

The San Antonio media does cover some 3A games, but the majority of their write-ups are concerning 5A football just because the popularity of 5A football is a lot bigger in the San Antonio area than 3A is. Because of schools like Judson and Clemens, who are well-known 5A schools that attrach the media, the other schools in and around the area unfortunately get very little write-ups as compared to the 5A schools. I don't think it's a matter of being biased, I think that it's just simply that the media feels that the majority of people in San Antonio want to hear about 5A football rather than 4A, 3A, 2A, or A, just because of the factor of popularity with the schools. I'm not saying that it's right that they are this way, but that's just what I think the whole factor is in dealing with the news coverage of 3A games/playoff games.

SA is responsible for their area only. That's just how it happens. It's a shame they didn't cover that game. It was one of the greatest games I have seen.
