Pac 10 top the bottom is the best conference in the country. There is talk that the Pac 10 has a legitmate shot of getting 7 out of 10 teams in the big dance. 70 percent of a conferences teams going dancing is unheard of. Sure the big east gets 8 or 9 in sometimes but thats out of 16.

throughout the late 1990's ACC did it all the time

and with Georgia Tech, Duke, UNC and Maryland all appearing and even winning most of the time in basically half of the championship games in the last decade, things aren't too bad. The bottom of the conference has dropped dramatically in the past 3 years or so

NC State, Wake Forest, Maryland and Virginia all have dropped, weakening the depth and middle strength of the conference (which was normally the easy pick for best for quite a while)

Pac-10 is the best overall conference right now

Pac 10 is solid throughout with the exception of OSU of course (0-14 conference record, 6-20 overall ... eww).

With the conference being so good it's going to hurt several teams that don't have amazing records. Maybe the committee will take the schedule more into consideration, but I always hear about that magic number for wins and a couple of schools are going to miss that in the Pac 10 that would easily make it in another conference. Personally I don't like teams making the Big Dance that have a losing conference record, but you gotta put the best team in, not the best records IMO.

Big East is too big. Not all the teams can even make the conference tournament.
