Great deal considering the Reds just signed Brandon Phillips to a four year, $27 million dollar deal this winter and you could make the argument that Kinsler is a better player.

Very good deal for the Rangers. He's going to end up being a huge bargain, IMO.

This should work out very well for the Rangers. Looks very similar to the Micheal Young extension of a few years ago...

heck, Kinsler IS in my avatar and everything, so I'm obviously a big fan of his, but he does remind me of Michael Young in so many ways.

I would rather have Kinsler just because I am a homer and I think Kinsler will end up being the better player but as of right now Id say that Phillips is a little bit better. Last season he had a 30/30 year like only the second second basemen to do that in MLB history.

yeah, Phillips has better numbers, but Kinsler also was out with an injury for a month, and he was affected by it before and after for a little bit of time. Kinsler actually had a higher OBP last year than Phillips, which is a positive sign.

Still, they're pretty much even stevens right now.
