Here is the companion table to my previous table I posted a few days ago of State Championship Appearances which takes it one step back and looks at which programs have appeared in the most State Semifinal games all-time.
Thirteen 3A programs under the new alignment made the list, 6 of which are in Region I, with 4 of the 6 teams from district 2-3A making the cut!
Interesting facts: Only two programs have ever won MORE than 6 region titles in the same decade (one did it 7 out of 10 years and the other 8 out of 10 years).
Two programs are tied for having won at least one region championship in every decade from the 1950's to the present.
The record for region titles in consecutive years is 9 in a row!
The record for consecutive losses in semifinal games is 7 in a row
The record for consecutive wins in semifinal games is 9 in a row
Only 1 of the 81 programs listed has advanced to the finals in every semifinal match they have ever played
