Finally got a password(2 weeks). Sat here and watched Sinton and others smack talk for those two weeks without being able to comment. a few people have complained about driving distances to the last game..blown out of proportion by Sinton. Good luck next time by the way. Burnet will be there in force. Others have basically referred to Burnet as 2 year wonders. I'm here to tell you that Burnet has been good for most of the past 15 years. No state titles, but this will hopefully make the third time to play for it all. hoping tat this one goes to the Dogs. To you Sinton fans ...didn't get to comment. We would have been more than happy to have played you most years and could have beaten you in 90,91,92, 95,98,00, 01(don't live there anymore and have actually coached against them, but will always pull for the dogs)....you know the rest of the story(enjoy hoops). Anyway's just needed to blow off steam after reading all the b.s. last week.. Hope the game is in Texas Stadium. Would be nice to see the Leander game also. good luck Burnet.

Would much rather drive 281 north than 281 south...Man what a horrible drive when you get out of S.A..... Just no mans land..... There would be a big difference tdud... Both teams would be driving.... Better luck next year tdud...This game is all about BURNET and Jasper... Sorry!!!!

Texas Stadium will be fun. It looks like the two Administrators are being civil and reasonable. I haven't heard El Paso as a proposed site. Not like last week.

I don't know about all those years but there is no way Burnet would have beaten Sinton in 2001. Nor would they have beat Everman. Just my opinion. Great game by Burnet against Sinton. We played as good as we could and it is a tribute to Burnet's players that they won. I hope Burnet brings the state championship to Region IV and everyone in Sinton is wishing them well. It was good to meet Chris Hart and my old aol friend Paintfall and some of the other fine Burnet folks. Good luck to all of you this week. Paintball may have strong opinions but he is a very nice person.

Everman got beat and I don't think Gainseville are Bulldogs, so it looks like this game is going to be the only dogfight. It will be a good one.

After Burnet v. Sinton its pretty obvious that distance doesn't matter. If you look at a good mapping program you can see that Kyle Field is the location that is closest to being geographically equal in distance to both towns. National Geographic travel program lists 133.1 miles for Burnet, 155.8 for Jasper. Since I have had many occasion to travel to CS from Burnet I know that drive time in a car is exactly 2.5 hours. Maybe 3 in a tour bus but I doubt it. Jasper has about 22 miles further to go. As I said in an earlier post....Admins know the deal when it comes to traveling during the playoffs. How tiring can it be to travel in a fully climatized vehicle with a bathroom on board. If you wanted to make travel time work in your favor you would make it far enough so the boys would have to spend the night in a hotel. You know they wouldn't sleep as well and would probably stay up too late. Then it might affect them. Kyle Field or Texas Stadium, Burnet wins.

I told this story to Phil C Friday. I think it is funny and illustrates that travel doesn't really effect these young men. When I was putting up the signs before the game I asked one of the players if he had a good trip. He replied: "I don't know. I fell asleep before we left the parking lot and didn't wake up until they woke me up at Furrs to eat." They fed them at Furrs in Corpus. He really had a rough trip. Didn't he. LoL

Really? 5 1/2 hours? Are you driving an automobile or a team of oxen?I commuted back and forth from Burnet to Jasper for a couple of months some years back and let me tell ya, theres no easy way to get there. It shouldnt take them that long to get to College Station though, unless some of those pine trees have fallen across the road again or they have to stop at every Dairy Queen along the way. wink wink

Approximately 4 hrsUm, maybe 3.5 hrs. if youm take the border all the way up to Dallas and then cut down! It is only 2.5 hrs. IF you drive 65 the entire way. Don't know where you get your info. but check into it!im just goin by what yahoo maps said...thats where i got my info, i did check my info..next time i'll just let you all bicker about it and not give any kind of idea...just wondering: who made you such an expert on driving directions/times???   Hey Jason, Ive looked at Yahoos drive times and I think they must allow for a lot of bathroom stops and lunch breaks. I drive between 50,000 and 70,000 miles a year all over and including a lot of these places and my drive times are considerbly less that those posted on maps and yahoo. But then I dont stop untill I need gas. The best traveling companion I ever had was my old dog Trapper, he was just glad to be there, never complained and never had to go to the bathroom till I stoped! wink wink

PS: if you are who i think you are then im ROTFLMAO... :D :D :D I appreciate the effort Jason.
