The only thing "odd" about this info is doesn't say WHO was doing the drug test. At the time, I don't believe that MLB was testing for steroids.

Sounds like this is the perfect time, but it seems a bit odd to me that this is just now coming out.

MLB didn't announce it. The info came from the Justice Dept. Kinda makes one wonder if they're trying to send Clemens a message that they know something and it just hasn't come out yet. Ya know...giving him one last chance to fess up and they'll go easy on the perjury charges.

that's what I read too. I guess people can't say "He never failed a drug test" when debating if he ever used performance enhancing drugs.

I guess that means an asterisk in the record books for sure now. I guess society let him down, too.:dispntd:

I'm glad they caught Bonds. The guy has always been so arrogant and hardly any of his teammates could stand him. I wish he'd just retire and we never hear from him again. That's what happened to Mark McQuire and Rafael Palmero after they were caught.

Pete Rose was banned for gambling(not fixing) on baseball.

Correct. And there is a difference. But the fact is, who can say he did not let Charlie Hustle loose on the days he bet against the Reds? Then, it would be "fixing", but no one will ever know except Rose.
