Two of our kids competed in the Taylor meet this past Saturday. My son got 3rd in his weight class, behind two 5A kids. This week is Brady, then possibly Comfort the week after, if he needs the numbers.

If I were to do powerlifting I would total >1300 pounds. Too bad I'm in college.

He got 1375, but for bad form on DL, he would've had 1410.

Powerlifting is basically open, in that there are no classification limits. 3A, 4A, 5A all compete together at meets. When I was in high school(some time ago:D ) we went to meets in Dallas, with Grapevine, Lake Highlands, Corsicana, Tyler Lee, etc. I have seen lots of kids from smaller schools smoke the big ones in power lifting. There was a kid from Burleson my senior year at regionals that benched 315 lbs, in the 148 class! He also squatted 465. I'm serious as a heart attack. Anyway, congrats to your son.

You know A&M has a powerlifting team...;)

My daughter's back will probably never let her lift again. She thought she might be able to ease herself back into it, but it is doubtbul. I know she really misses it.

Congrats to everyone!! Great job.

Yeah, I know, but I've got football going on so I don't think I will really have time. I was wondering how she was doing in that, sorry to hear that for her.

Hello Liberty Hill Mom, just wondering what grade your son is in. My son is ranked in the top 20 in region 5, in the 275 class. He is a sophomore and benches 290, dl and squats 425. Also, do you know where our scrimmage will be at? Good luck to your son and LIberty Hill. See ya in August.

He prefers close grip, but the PL coach likes for them to try wide also.

My son came in 2nd for his weight class at last week's district meet and is currently in the top 10 for region. He prefers a close grip as well.

I'm bragging again as well. Thanks for being patient with this!

Son is 2nd in his weight class at the Rice Consol. Invitational Meet today.

We left the meet at 5:00. Another class is still doing dead lift. Our group is coming on home because of weather issues.

Rice Cons. is a beautiful school and hosted a great meet with many schools. We were impressed.

I'm ready for a powerlifting meet and greet. I kept thinking we'd meet up at one of the other meets.

The website is www.thspa.org for boys. There's a link to the girls website when you click on "meet results".

Results are usually posted by Tuesday but have a Thursday deadline.
