As for the boys, I know we still have our final district game against Mathis to play.

Gonzales- Cuero girls had a playoff for first seed. Gonzlaes girls win 1st seed in 29-3A

cuero boys beat yoakum, so cuero will play orange grove and yoakum will play aransas pass, both games will be next tuesday in a double header at beeville, i do not know yet which game is first but they will start around 6 p.m.

Yoakum's record is 16-17 (4-4) for the year. I don't think this is one of their better years, but you never know. Don't know anything about AP.

AP is the defending regional champion. Dist 30-3A will have another team represent the region in Austin as well I am sure of it. Yoakum is very well coached as is AP. Very disciplined. RH is not as good as a couple of years ago, should be a great matchup no matter what.

Johnny 5 - I know nothing on Yoakum, but AP is good when they want to be, they went to final 4 last year, a couple returners, excellant point guard, decent post players, decent depth off bench, but their strength, imo, is their coaching. they play a very difficult preseason. they should be a decent playoff team

RH has the problem of playing to the competition. If the other teams plays really good, so will RH. If the other team play sloppy, so will RH.

AP was regional champion last year because there was a differential of 42 to 13 at the free throw line. I would be a little slower to announce that district 30 has the thing wrapped up. Gonzales is back with the same team they had last year except for Taylor Davis. They are getting their game together and I think will be a hell of an opponent for anybody in the region.

Either I read wrong, or UIL changed their bracket . . . I think they changed it because the print out I got when I first asked the question had RH already typed in as W32. It is not there anymore.

I saw AP play yoakum last year in the playoffs, and AP had some size, which is the only thing that can slow down Gonzales. Probably the reason why AP won last year is the size and that led to the free throw diff.
But Yoakum took Gonzales to OT this year, and Yoakum has plenty of size.


FYI: I think Gonzales' closest victory was a 7 point win over Cuero, all the rest have been by at least 10

Gonzales is for real as long as they keep their heads straight. I was impressed with Cody Burton.

p4s - someone had to start it.........................but people do tend to forget and looking at the bracket, oso has real good shot to get to regionals, that oso district is pretty decent in basketball anyway and they dominated it. I just hope OG gets another shot at Oso in a couple of weeks.......time will tell all and good luck to all, as well
