A Burleson County man is in critical condition after a motorcycle crash, causing him serious injuries to his head and chest.

Deputies say Michael McCoy, 42, was driving his morotcycle when he lost control and hit a guardrail.

Trooper Michael Monaghan arrived at the site and concluded that McCoy was traveling at an unsafe speed.

McCoy was a short distance from his home. His son heard the accident happen and promptly called 911.

McCoy was transported to St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.

The trooper says he was not wearing a helmet.

I know this family very well. Michael is great person and a wonderful father and husband. He has 1 son that is 22 that graduated with me 1 son that graduated in 2007 and a daughter that is a freshman I believe. Please please pray for Michael to have a full recovery and for God to be with this family!

Sadly I knew that part was coming before I read my way down to it. This happens all too often, and I'll never understand why.
Prayers go out to his family.
Hope he makes a full recovery.

Talked to one of his sons today..

Michael is still in the ICU in Bryan. The color is coming back to his face and the swelling has gone down. He isnt able to speak yet but they are hoping that will happen tomorrow. Please continue to pray for him!

His son has reported he was actually able to open his eyes today and he was able to get the work "cam" out (refering to his son Cameron) Prayers are still needed yet the doctors have told the family they think he will make a full recovery!
