StangRed, I'm not really sure that that is our biggest problem. At this point I don't care where we play because I just want to win a district game.

Why is the Burk game at Wichita Falls? Are they having some sort of classic in Wichita Falls now?

Yeah, the local paper in WF (Times & Record News) has had a kickoff classic the past few years. I think last year it was Holliday and Windthorst.

Is it just one game or do they make a weekend of it like
Sweetwater's does?

Killer row is only 2 games, not 3. Snyder will be a blow out.

I'm not going to say we will win this game, because I have no idea how our offense is going to look. But I'd bet a pretty penny that our defense will hold them way below 42.

He went to prosper! Remember Che Hendrix? The head baseball coach that came in after Cochran? He is the DC now. Also, our OC, Hunt stepped down and is only gunna help and coach middle school or something like that. We got a coach from Levelland for the OC. Heard his son was a stud at QB but idk.

Well we just have to wait and see how all that works out I guess. Sure hope this Hendrix guy is a lot better DC than he was a baseball coach, or we're in deep caca. But at least a new OC should be a step up, I dont care who the guy is. I wonder how old his son is? If he's not a senior, he'll have to set out of varsity for a year.

It really doesn't apply to coaches' kids, since it is a job move for the coach, not the family moving so the kid can play where he wants. :)

I wish travel these days wasn't so cost prohibitive. I'd love to see Calallen go up to play in the Baugh classic or Sweetwater and Wylie come down to S.A. to play in the Texas Football Classic. That would be awesome...

You know, I love to hear these types of comments all the time. They always make me laugh. I would really like for someone who could name "one", not make a list, name "one" move in that was an immmediate impact player a Wylie in the last 13 years. That's how many years I've lived in the Wylie ISD and followed the football team very closely. I can't even think of any that moved in before the 7th grade that had any significant influence on the success Hugh has had at Wylie. "H" has done an unbelievable job of establishing a program and parental interest that runs deep. All the way through elementary school. We have programs here that involves K-5th grade kids with Varsity athlete's and it has a tremendous impact on those young kids.

OK, I know some of you are thinking and trying your best to come up with someone!

And don't even start with the "Felts" group. They moved here when Tommy was in the 7th grade. It was for a family situation and none of the kids were any kind of a so called "move in" threat! And none of them would also be considered an "impact" player either.

:2thumbsup
I know/knew many excellent players that could have move to Wylie or live in Wylie, but only reason they did not was because they wanted to play 5A football. I know one parent is thinking about moving, since Cooper drop to 4A, his son is an excellent football player. I believe he could start as a freshman (IMO).

Hey Panther Mom! I know you meant it as a joke and I apologize if I seemed to have a chip on my shoulder. I assure you I don't. It's just that around here you seem to here that stuff all the time and I keep waiting for it to actually happen. You can rib me all you want, at least until after week two. Hopefully I will have the upperhand on you after that. I am so looking foward to that game, and since my son has graduated, I can actually relax and enjoy what should be one heck of a football game on the new field turf without being totally wrapped up in the outcome. We need to have a meet and greet before the game if you guys can make it down here early enough, I already have a great idea for it if your interested in it. I'll PM you sometime to see what you think.:D

I am also looking forward to this game...which is why I am missing the Greenwood game to head to Abilene. Even my husband, who runs the chains and NEVER misses a home game is gonna get someone to take his place that night!!

Since LHPM is the only one I really know, I will be sitting on the LH side!! I think a M&G sounds like a great idea!!!

Ok, Ranger Mom! I know that you (and everybody else) think that all Wylie people are affluent even though I'm not. We are members at the country club here in Abilene. On Fridays in the fall they have a $3.99 hamburger buffet which is awesome. If you and Panther mom and others wanted to meet there, I could set it up as long as everyone was willing to pay me for there meal because I will have to pay it at the end of the month. It's about 5 minutes from the stadium. I would have to definitley clear this with my wife of course, but let me know and I will be glad to ask her.

It actually sounds good to me! We'll definitely have to make some kind of M&G plans. :)
