Whitney has to win her next match to wrestle for 3rd or 4th so two wins will get her third and a trip to austin but one loss and she is out.

Good luck my son lost his second last night. His first trip to regionals ended at 1win and 2 losses. Oh well theres allways next year! I wish 2-a-days were here.

Ok, she won her last one. One more win and she will take 3rd and go to austin! If she dosen't win this match she gets 4th and goes to state but 5th can challenge her so really she would have to win again to go to state. Will know in about and hour!

Congrats to your son. Last year whitney lost 2 straight and was out. Of course this is it for her as she is a senior. One more win!

Austin bound!!!! She took 4th place and earned a spot to state!!!!

Is it common for schools to have wrestling programs? I know back in my day Austin I.S.D. used to have some schools that were really good and had an occasional girl on their teams.

Not too common around here. All the trips we take are far far away! The panhandle seems to have a lot as well as El Paso.

There are no classifications so all the girls wrestle each other. So it really is a state champion. So 16 girls in the entire state go to state in each weight class.

So proud!!! This will be my first trip to a state championship where my kiddo is playing and I'm so excited.

We have had a lot of great football teams here in Vernon but since I have been here (15 years) in Vernon we have not made it to the dance. But now I get to go and watch my very own daughter at state!
