If there's another eight-team district after realignment, Caldwell could be placed with La Grange, Elgin, Taylor, Giddings, Rockdale, Smithville and Hutto. If so, makes ya wonder if the playoffs will ever happen. There's even talk about having two teams make playoffs again. With that realignment, this might have been the Hornets' best chance for post-season for years to come. The team will have to bust a gut the rest of the way. Good luck.

3 teams in playoffs is stupid. If there was one undisputed state champ that would be fine but this 2 division thing will always leave a lingering "what if." Sure hypothetically Burnet could win D1 and marlin D2 so we know who the superior team is BUT how often do the champs play each other in regular season AND since it was so early in the season, it's hard to gauge that both teams played at 100% potential.
