According to David McNabb...Royse City head coaching job now open!

Thought this would happen....pending something wild happening, Rodney Webb will be introduced as the new head coach at Mesquite Horn.

I heard it will be Monday when it comes out.
Coach Webb will be missed in Royse City he is a great coach and even better person. Horn is getting a good one.

ive always enjoyed talking with coach Webb...are they going to hire from within or go outside on this one? There will be a LOT of peopl einterested in that job

I haven't heard what's going to happen as far as his replacement.
It should be a good job with the new indoor we have and the stadium opening next year. but being in 10-4A may be tough for a few years.

Mesquite Horn has TONS of athletes but just hasn't had the right man in charge to work with those kids according to some I talked to in Mesquite. The money will also be better.

and Horn is in a six team District and the top 4 will go to the playoffs.

Money, 4 or 6 to the playoffs, Not getting kicked by HP and others. RC may/will end up like Forney. Tough times ahead. Only memories in the rearview. Those reasons come to mind on a move to Horn.

Why? They might be in the hardest district in 4A

it doesnt matter. There will be 200-plus applicants i bet. Facilities are going to be great....money is going to be good. Morrison is there one more year...

Biggest problem here is the fact that there is a girls AD and a boys AD...why? I don't know, but the school board needs to change that so we can get and keep a good AD/HC. Why pay two AD's when you have 1 hs, 1 jh? You could pay a single AD better $ to keep them around. If the AD is doing the job right then they will take care of both the boys and girls objectively...

We now have lost 3 really good coaches in the last two years (we will be losing a couple from the staff along with Webb). I am excited for Coach Webb, I wish him the very best, he deserves it. I am disappointed for RC.

Such is life, you work hard, accomplish goals and better yourself so you can take better care of your family. Coach Webb is progressing very well as a HC. I think they will do very well at Mesquite Horn.

The junior class that is going into their last year at RC is really going to be hurt though. They have the talent to be competitive next year. At least a middle of the pack finish in district in football before this was announced. How many of those kids will stay focused and not look at the schedule and give up before the season starts? Coach Webb had a way of keeping them focused. Hopefully the new coach is a good motivator and can earn the kids' trust quickly, more importantly hopefully the kids afford the new coach the chance he deserves.

I can tell you for a fact that Coach Webb truly loves Royse City and hates to leave

However, he does this for a living and that is no different than any of us..........we stay at jobs or we move on based on many factors, including money
