The big 3 all bought rights to the engine and planned on introducing several models featuring the engine..including a rotary powered Corvette...but were unable to get them to run clean enough to pass emissions tests, nor could they get them to be economical compared to a small, conventional 4 cyl. they'd be replacing in most applications. Mazda seemed to be the only company that could make one that was worth a crap basically. They still aren't that economical.

Pros: Will turn un-Godly RPMS, ingenious design w/ far less moving parts than a conventional pushrod engine, only way to tear one up is to overhead it and ruin the rotor seals, etc.

Cons: Lack torque w/out a large turbo, not very efficient/economical, if not maintained, will overhead and ruin rotor seals, basically ruining the engine, most people can't get their mind around the design and how it works.
