How did they decide which numerical districts would be left open?

How will this change the play-off matchups?

Back in the 70's we had bye's. Of Course we only had 16 districts back then. Some were 12 team districts split into zones. The two zones then played for the district championship. The winner would then advance on to the playoffs.

So 12 teams get byes in the first round? Not cool.

It's pick your poison in 3A...it's either open districts or raise or drop the cutoff by 50-60 more students thus making the enrollment disparity worse than it already is...(by the way it's still the highest in 3A)

We'll probably see the number of 3-7 teams that "advance" to the second round go up because these open districts.

I don't understand their reasoning. Travel would not have been a problem for them.
