I would like to see a list of the Rivals top 100 high school players from 4 to 5 years ago to see how they fared. Does anyone know of such a list or where to see it ? Just curious.

Here's a comparison I did of 3 star players to 5 star players from the Rivals ratings:

Here are the 3*'s (and some 2*'s) I picked out with their NFL Draft Round listed (if applicable):

2002 - AJ Hawk (1st), Santonio Holmes (1st), D'Brickashaw Ferguson (1st), Demeco Ryans (2nd), Brandon Merriweather (1st), Adam Carriker (1st), Gaines Adams (1st)

2003 - Ryan Kalil (2nd), Jeff Samardzija (5th MLB, likely 1st NFL), Paul Posluszny (2nd), Amobi Okoye (1st), Patrick Willis (1st), Matt Ryan, (likely 1st), Gosder Cherilus (likely 1st), Mike Jenkins (likely 1st), DeJuan Tribble (1st/2nd)

2004 - Darelle Revis (1st), Jamaal Anderson (1st round, 2*), Ryan Clady (likely 1st, 2*), Antoine Cason (likely 1st), Aqib Talib (likely 1st, 2*), James Hardy (1st/2nd, 2*), Brandon Flowers (1st/2nd)

Here is the 5* info:

2002 (38 5*'s)
1. Vince Young - 1st Round
2. Haloti Ngata - 1st Round
3. Lorenzo Booker - 3rd Round
4. Ben Olson - nope
5. Reggie McNeal - 6th Round, multiple criminal charges
6. Chris Davis - 4th Round
7. Ryan Moore - criminal charges, dismissed from Miami
8. Marcus Vick - criminal charges, dismissed from Va Tech
9. Leon Washington - 4th Round
10. Ciatrick Fason - 4th Round, 18 carries, out of NFL
Notables: Justin Blalock (15), Trent Edwards (20), Jerious Norwood (21), Pat Watkins (26), Devin Hester (28), Maurice Clarett (37)

2003 (25 5*'s)
1. Ernie Sims - 1st Round
2. Reggie Bush - 1st Round
3. Whitney Lewis - transferred to UNorthern Iowa
4. Andre Caldwell - 15th best WR prospect in 2008 NFL Draft
5. Kyle Wright - 18th best QB prospect in 2008 NFL Draft
6. Prescott Burgess - moved to LB, 6th round
7. Tony Hills - moved to OT, 11th best OT prospect in 2008 NFL Draft
8. Jorrie Adams - switched to defense, drug arrests, dismissed from A&M
9. Paul Oliver - flunked out @ Georgia, 4th round in NFL Supplemental by Chargers
10. Greg Olsen - 1st round
Notables: Ofa Mohetau (18), Robert Meachem (20), Jarvis Moss (25)

2004 (25 5*'s)
1. Adrian Peterson - 1st Round
2. Ted Ginn, Jr. - 1st Round
3. Early Doucet - 6th best WR prospect in 2008 NFL Draft
4. Rhett Bomar - HA...HA...
5. Keith Rivers - #1 OLB prospect in 2008 NFL Draft
6. Willie Williams - 11 arrests before playing for Miami, also went to 2 JUCO's, West Virginia, and Louisville. Kicked out of Louisville for 3 more felonies.
7. Brandon Miller - 31st best OLB prospect in 2008 NFL Draft
8. Derrick Harvey - 3rd best DE prospect in 2008 NFL Draft
9. Jeff Schweiger, Jr. - minimal playing time at USC, rumored to transfer in 2007, ???
10. Xavier Lee - Benched 14 times as the Florida State QB...heading to NFL Draft instead of switching to TE. Listed as 14th best QB prospect
Notables: Chad Henne (13), Frank Okam (18), Dan Connor (24)

So out of 88 5* players from 2002 to 2004...we have 12 that were or are going to be 1st round picks by the end of the 2008 NFL Draft. By comparison, we have 13 of the 30 from the Top 10 lists that either went undrafted, went in the supplemental draft, and/or are not in the NFL.

Long story short...it's a crapshoot and a 3* player can just as easily become a top player as a 5* talent can bust out and never see graduation or the NFL.

I don't know what saddens me the most:

the fact that USC already has such high-rated verbals or that we're talkin' USC's "year away" verbals in Texas...
