Depends on time of day you are going....when I went to Corpus I just took 35 to 37...

the key is what time are you hitting Dallas?? I-35E is a nightmare north of I-20...

It'll be 10 or so by the time you reach the outskirts of Dallas...I'd just take 37 to 35 and then at Hillsboro get on I35E and take it into Carrollton...traffic shouldn't be too bad that time of night.....watch out for construction in Hillsboro

take 35 into dallas, then go north on 75, then go west on the george bush turnpike - take that into carrollton...the gbt is a toll road....

I usually take 181 to 123 to San Macros & then jump on I35. I hate I-37 too many troopers.

I've also taken 181 to 81 (just outside Kennedy) that turns into 183 and I take that just past all the Austin mess.

There really is no "fast" way to get there. It's a 6-7 hour drive no matter which route you take, imo.

After you get into Dallas - take jason's suggestion.

portland to sinton to beeville to kenedy to karnce city to nixon, to luling, to lockhart, to austin take 71 east past air port and then get on toll road 130 for the next 45 miles and bypass all of austin and release north of georgetown.....cost is $4.50 total....then hit belton, temple, waco, hillsboro and go to the left towards ft worth instead of dallas north of hillsboro....then in fort worth take 121 north and you will go through HEB area and then grapevine and into the colony and carrollton....easiest route than that i35 crap through dallas...this is the route i was just on over xmas and the toll road for 45 miles to bypass austin is the key..........

If you really want to hit some long drives you should probably get in the weight room and get a swing coach.

The quickest way to make a long drive is to buy yourself a really good book CD with about 6 cd's, then sit back and let the car do the driving.;) :D

77 to Waco. Lots of towns to go through but you don't have to mess with 35 til then. And 35 is a nightmare until you get to the split.
