I saw a projected district with
Cameron
Rockdale
Taylor
LH
Burnet
Llano

the travel to Llano is way way to much...we went there for baseball last year and that is to much with all the 3a schools around cameron

padilla poll

and that would put us in Region VI
the dumb thing is there are team such as say giddings that are on an hour south of us and are in region III so I put nothing in to that projection

the padilla projections and predictions are a little off the wall in some instances......but you know so are the uil's at time......distance means nothing someone or some district has to be on the edge....and if I remember that prediction the top four districts(25, 26, 27 and 28) of region IV would be pretty tough...I will see if I can find it.

Maybe not, Go Blue. Remember, all of the athletes that moved from Region III to Region IV, would magically become weaker and slower than they presently are. :p

Not a bad projection. It would even up the region numbers a bit.

Coaches #'s I've gotten...

Rockport-Fulton 981
No # for Tuloso-Midway but we are guessing right in the 1000 range
Robstown 991

Go talk to someone from Anthony about travel. You would NEVER, EVER complain about having to make a trip to Llano for a district game.

Cameron is a very special school and the UIL believes they deserve their own region. :)

You mean "use to be" Region III talent... don't ya?

As a matter of fact, if Rockdale moves to Region IV, you can expect to see fewer Bluebonnets on the side of the road come Spring. :D

I'm not sure if the district will let these play down. They might keep them up.

The UIL has already stated that they will not allow schools to opt up. So those Houston schools will be 3A

Matthew328
01-21-2008, 04:57 PM
UIL will allow schools who either have travel concerns or are in ISD's of more than 8 HS's to opt up...Forest Brook doesn't fall into this category as their ISD only has 2 high schools.

Carter-Riverside has never opted up and I don't imagine they will...

Coaches from both Scarborough and Sam Houston have said they will not opt up

Fort Worth Dunbar
Houston Kashmere
Houston Wheatley
Houston Worthing

will all opt up and stay 4A

Nobody has mentioned Brownwood. Top ranked 4a school which turned in less than a 1000. I think its pretty much a guarantee that they are dropping down.

brownwood is losing a lot from a team that wasnt very good last year....they might make some noise, but are not instant title contenders like waco and copperas cove were when they went from 5a to 4a...

Wow. That's a significant drop for G'ville. Gainesville hasn't turned in that low of a number in years. Probably since I was a freshman in 96-97. Actually....earlier than that. My freshman year was one of the largest school enrollments in history.

Something isn't right.

It has to be 807 as that's further closer to the recent trend of enrollment at Gville for the last 10 years or so. Gainesville hasn't been low 700s high 600s in about 40-50 years, if ever.

Oh, and I still like you! :D

Can anyone confirm the number turned in by Mercedes?

I have a feeling they've been hovering around the 1000-1100 range, and if their number is a little lower they may be a possible drop-down into 3A....and would go into District 32.

*Edit* - Disregard. I confirmed their numbers over on the RGV forum, they're around 1400 kids. They're safely in 4A.
