Looks like Forest Brook, Scarborough and Huffman-Hargrave all could drop...could shift things some in Region 3....

From a basketball perspective, Region III should thank their lucky stars that Wheatley refuses to drop down every realignment.

Huffman-Hargrave was a long-time 3A school and only recently bumped up to 4A, 'bout the same time as Barbers Hill.

Forest Brook and Scarborough dropping would definitely shake things up, however. No shortage of speed at those schools. It'd be interesting to see if they go into an existing district, or if 21-, 22-, 23-, and 24-3A would be broken up and reorganized. Some 17- or 18-3A schools might get bumped over to Region IV.

One thing to consider for Region 1 is district 17-3A. As recently as 1998-99, LaVega, Connally, and China Spring were in District 8, along with West, Whitney, and Hillsboro from District 12-3A. Gatesville was in District 8 in 1984-85, with Burnet, Llano, Brady, Marble Falls, and Lampasas. With Region 1 needing a district, and the possibility of Houston area schools dropping to 3A, 17-3A is a logical choice, especially if Brownwood, or even Stephenville, move to 3A. Remember, Brownwood is currently in a district with Copperas Cove, Waco, Midway, University, and Killeen, all of which are within 17-3A. One of the things that may keep this from happeing though is travel to regional sites in places like Odessa or Lubbock. It's a lot easier to travel to Brenham or Huntsville then to West Texas.

Another possibility for Region 1 is district 25-3A, which has Wimberley, Ingram, Llano, and Bandera in it. With the possibility of Burnet and Fredericksburg moving down to 3A, they could move to Region 1, where they have been before. Teams in Houston dropping to 3A could move District 24 to Region 4, where they have been within the past few years.

Much easier to travel to Brenham, but Brenham lacks the facilities to host such regional events.

Yes, it will be very interesting to see where Rudder is placed. I hear that the school is almost finished.
