By worst I mean that they handcuff the front office and coaches
by being overly involved in all the decision making.

I started to put him on there. I think he's really just a crappy
owner that shouldn't be allowed to own a sports franchise.

I voted for George. With him it's championship or bust.

I think its George by a lot even though he doesnt do too much of it anymore he use to be pretty bad back in the Billy Martin days. All the hate of Jerry Jones by the "old time" Cowboy fans is so overdone and ridiculous to hold a grudge for nearly 20 years.

I'm not a Cowboy fan and even I didn't like the way he handled
the Tom Landry deal. I doubt Cowboy fans gave it any thought
after a few Super Bowls, let alone still hold a grudge.

Who has won titles????

Al Davis - 1976, 1980, 1983
Jerry Jones - 1992, 1993, 1995
George Steinbrenner - 1977, 1978, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000
Dan Snyder -

easy decision...

exactly...it's one thing to be an overbearing owner who takes control away from GMs and coaches, but it's an entirely different deal to do it and be terrible at it at the same time!

i was about to say the exact same thing

if emphatic owners are to be judged, let it be by all of their merits and demerits

at least jerry brought the city of dallas 3 titles

Snyder is bossy AND horribly inefficient and unsuccessful in the playoffs

He's not the same style owner as the aforementioned. He's more concerned with making money and if success happens along the way then so be it.

I picked Snyder, but since I hate the skins I really like the guy. I hope he keeps his job forever.:D
Al Davis is a close second, then Steinbrenner and lastly Jones.

People are quick to overlook how Jones changed the way the NFL is marketed today. As much as any commish, he lead the evolution of the game into the 21st century and demonstrated how any franchise can be profitable AND competitive at the same time.

I'm impressed with what Steinbrenner bought the Yankees
for and their value now. I can't remember the number but it
was rediculous. I'd be interested to know what Jones bought
the Cowboys for and their current value. I'd look it up myself
but I wouldn't know where to begin to look...hint hint.

don't know exactly but they are a couple of times more valuable on the open market than back then

of course, the dollar is worth less now than then, and all franchises are worth more

however, the cowboys have been at or near the top of the NFL values since Jones took over the team

I think that is the perception of Hicks but is not right

When he first bought the Rangers he opened the checkbook and it did not work..Then he made the mitake of hiring Hart..THAT put the Rangers back 5 years

I think IF/WHEN Texas is closer to being a contender he will open the checkbook more, but right now they are trying to let the minor leaguers develop
