absolute BS on their part...at least they're going to play Bobby Patrino...those two backstabbers can have each other!

Gonna be tough for Tech to find a quality replacement this late in the season. Might have to call up Indiana State or some D1-AA.

Tulsa was afraid and their fears are well founded.

likely replacements are Army, UNLV, BYU, Tulane, and Southern Miss. There are a few other 1-A's with a game open...but the list is gets ugly...

Im confused....to back out a game has to be scheduled and then someone decides they dont want to play. Did that happen?

Yes. Tulsa backed out of an August 30th game @ Texas Tech. Instead they're going to play Arkansas. Hence the Todd Graham and Bobby Patrino comment...well that and the way Graham screwed Rice last year.

well compare playing Tulsa to possibly playing a 1-AA...either way Tech probably wins but it's better to get a win over a 1-A team.

Todd Graham is a quality man and if you knew him or every had the chance to meet him you would think the same thing.

True...that's why we needed this game to even back up the overall series! ;)

I'm not saying he's not...but his actions towards Rice and now Tech are pretty poor IMO. Signing a long-term extension with a school and then taking a job elsewhere just days later...pretty crappy. Same thing with backing out of a game with well under a year until it's to be played. Worse yet, as of this morning nobody from Tulsa has contacted Tech to inform them or to try and work out an agreement on buyout. Instead, they leak the info out to their local newspaper on a Friday night. A "quality man" wouldn't do that IMO.

Its not Grahams job to contact Tech. Thats why their is an AD's office. If Todd Graham tells his AD's office he doesnt want to play Texas Tech, then its the job of the AD's office to work out all the details.
And nobody knows all of the details surrounded his deal with Rice. He did what was best for his family and told Rice when he got the job that if Tulsa ever opened he would pursue the job. Tulsa gave him his big break in College Football.

Yes, but Tulsa without Paul Smith is a BIG question mark.

Tulsa didnt want an a kicking. Figure this is where Ark. is. They get picked up by Tulsa who drops Tech. So Tech is better ant Arkansas. Arkansas got beat down by 1 Big 12 school. Tulas would rather play them. Better chance of a win or not a beat down. Tech would have lit them up for 60. Thats not good for recruiting. Wussys backing out.
