And sure enough, the thing is a marvel to behold. It's so big, it's hard to take it in, really. With a viewing area that measures 11 feet by 6 1/4 feet and 8.84 million pixels of resolution, the TV (which has no model number and no date for being commercialized) is regularly thronged by crowds of slack-jawed onlookers, unable to comprehend the thing.

How cool would it be to watch the Super Bowl on that thing.

You would have to be what...25 feet from the TV to get a good viewing angle??? I'm guessing TMer headed out to Vegas for CES so we'll get a report soon enough...

My future brother-in-law works for NOV (National Oilwell and Varco) and in their Board Room at their headquarters in Houston they have one of the 105" Panasonic plasmas. It is a sweet setup. The huge plasma actually flips down from the ceiling with two 60" plasmas flanking it. It is something else.

I used to work for that company until about 2-1/2 years ago. They should've spent that money on me as an incentive to stay. :D If they offer me that TV I might just go back to work for 'em. NOT!:D That would be too cool to have a TV that big, though, even though you'd basically have to build a room around it.

Japanese electronics conglomerate Matsushita Electric Industrial introduced on Monday a 381 cm plasma television, which it says is the world's biggest.

The new TV boasts four times better resolution than full high-definition 1080p picture quality and offers a screen the size of nine 127 cm plasma televisions.

It was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas by Toshihiro Sakamoto, president of Panasonic AVC Networks.

Matsushita's new screen, which measures 3.8m when measured diagonally, tops the Panasonic brand maker's 261 cm plasma TV released last year. The 261 cm television has sold 3000 units over the last year, Matsushita said.

It will become available in 2009 at an undisclosed price, mainly for use as billboards.

Panasonic also said it plans to bring videos from Google's YouTube directly to its line of internet-enabled high-definition plasma TV sets. The new Viera HDTVs also provide access to Google's photo sharing site, Picasa.

That pic doesn't do it justice. My friend has a 72" DLP, and it doesn't look half that size like it should. But then again, that guy could be 7'3" 370 and taken from 20 yards back

all of a sudden I feel small w/ my 65 inch......

Although....most projector machines can get you a 200 inch picture with 1080i resolution already
