They did under Mackovic, but they haven't had to lately. Don't know about anyone else.

Ron Weaver, aka Ron McKelvey, comes to mind here! What UT fan could ever forget that guy from the Mackovic era... There's 5th year seniors and then there's him...lol. I think he's now around 42 or 43 years old! He was 30 at the time he played as a back-up for UT during the final year of the SWC.

Ron McKelvey: Texas reserve was suspended before 1996 Sugar Bowl because his real name was Ron Weaver and he'd used up his eligibility at Sacramento State. He'd used the Social Security number of a Salinas, Calif., man named Joel McKelvey to change his identity, entered a Los Angeles JC and then transferred to Texas.
