Do any of you think to yourself, "Man, I sure am glad Musberger is commentating this game."

Does anybody actually like Musberger?

It's been my opinion for years that he's a lazy "journalist", if you can call him that. He doesn't research teams, and he always roots for the teams that are already "known" and well-established.

There was a thread about Hoge and some others.....but does anybody really care about Musberger?

If not, then maybe we should start a petition to get him off the air.

I honestly don't dislike him...I've heard many that were worse, but I never get "excited" that he's commentating.

I don't like or dislike him really. There's a list of about ten others
I can't stand though. You mentioned him being lazy on another
thread. How he confused a 5'11" 195 lb. light complexioned
Mexican with a 6'2" 275 lb. black man is beyond me.

its the booze. Can you imagine he and Al Michaels together in the booth? The bar tab would feed a family for a month.

True.

Does anyone know what the speech impediment Lou Holtz has
is called. He talks like he has a mouth full of spit. I'm not trying to
make fun of him. I just find it extremely annoying, not to mention
it makes him real hard to understand.

I don't dislike Musberger I just think he is a little bit corny. I can't imagine him ever being an athlete. The one that I think that is just horrible is Bryant Gumble. I feel sorry for his partner Chris Collinsworth (who I really like). My favorites are Madden and Michaels, and Aikman/Buck a close 2nd.

Musberger is bad, but to be honest Mike Patrick bugs me more. He acts like everything is the most incredible thing to ever happen in a football game.

For the record, I had to attend speech class in elementary school.
I had trouble if a sentence had one too many R's and W's in it. It
wasn't bad enough for kids to tease me but still bothered me.

huh? No...I don't know what you mean by that...

All I'm saying is that it's not very nice of you to state "I'm trying to make fun of him. I find it extremely annoying..."

If you acknowledge that it's an impediment, then it's obviously something that he can't control. So you making fun of him is just about as classy as making fun of someone in a wheelchair or someone who has burn marks all over their body or something.

OMG! I swear I just realized I left out not "trying". I was
wondering why you were going after me.

If you know me, you would know I wouldn't post something like
that.:(

I'm going to ask a mod to edit it for me.

wow...ok...sorry about that...when I read those two sentences together, they sounded pretty harsh...it didn't sound like something you'd say, so that's why I brought it up...

Now I'm with you...I was wondering why the heck you wanted to make fun of someone after you said that you'd dealt with a similar problem...I was totally lost there for a while.

i formed my opinion years back when Miami was playing Ohio State in the National Championship....Miami ran out onto the field and he adressed them as the Florida State Seminoles and never corrected it:doh:

I guess that's probably the worst part about my job--I'm a proofreader.

So I read exactly what I see, adn sometimes that makes it almost impossible to try to interpret intent.

I read it the way it was intended also!!

I didn't see any reason to edit, it's all been explained down the thread anyway!!

Then we could just laugh at the people who read it, quote it, preach about it, and then feel silly once they read the rest of the threads!!

:D

I thought about that too, but eh I edited the original post.

Of course, you are free to edit it again! :D

Did you do that on purpose, Mr. proofreader?

Was it hard to watch Detroit on a 55 minute power play? :D

I'm cocky and enthusiastic right now. When the playoffs roll
around, I'll be worried given the recent performances the last
few years.:(
