Is that Fox's doing? I thought there were designated time frames for commercials, such as "after the first team's oppening posession," "under the 6 minute mark in the first quarter" "any injury that tkaes more than 1 minute to get the player off the field", etc.

At least that's how it works in radio.

I thought all the bowl games lasted 4 1/2 hours. They only play
for 60 minutes. Everything else is commercials, long halftimes, or
idle chat . Isn't that the case for all the networks carrying
bowl games?

Exactly...blame the sponsors and bowls themselves...I don't think any one network is to blame.

I can't stand watching a game that I know has already taken place and fast forwarding just so I can skip commercials. I want to know who won as soon as the game's over, not a few hours after everybody else knows.
