Randy Moss is an outfielder who catches fly balls. When's the last time you saw him sacrifice his body by throwing a block to spring one of his teammates for the big play? Or go up and over the middle to snag a pass and take a big hit?

It'd be impossible to calculate, but blocks thrown would be interesting to see. That's why I'm so impressed with Hines Ward as a WR.

Marvin Harrison is most complete and consistant WR in the league.

I'm going with Don Hutson. In his day he was far and away the best of the best. He should not be handicapped for playing in the 50's when the game was run based and you really had to be a tough guy to play the game. The NFL then was actually semi-pro football because the players were paid so poorly that the guys had to have a job in the offseason just to support their families. Hutson held many receiving records for 30+ years and is a true legend and pioneer of the forward pass.

I was just going to bring up Hutson, but he actually played in the 40's. IMO, the single best WR ever compared to his era.

My first thought was Brown. Then Carter. I also thought about Huston. No one today has the gap that he did on the others at his time. Bob Hayes changed coverages because of his speed. I always liked Monk and Reed. And I agree props to Ward, he plays with so much joy. It is a pleasure to see him play.

TO has been good everywhere he's been... I wouldn't go calling Moss the for sure #2 with his absense in Oakland... that was pitiful and mostly because he didn't feel like playing...

Whitlock was hosting Rome the other day and said Moss was the MVP for the Pats and there's no other way around it... I thought it was funny...

a guy finally called in and said exactly what I was thinking, "Who would you rather go down in the early season? Moss or Brady?" I'm thinking the Pats were a 14-2 team without Moss there, but wouldn't be as good without Brady...

of course Whitlock had a dumb answer "Well that has more to do with a back-up QB not being too good"... I wanted to reach through the radio and slap him, because that comment there just made him even more Valuable...
