How Badly Will Penn State Beat Texas A&M?

Texas A&M was a one-dimensional offense all season long, then exploded for 365 yards passing against Texas. I still don't believe in Texas A&M's passing game and it will show against the Nittany Lions. PSU is ranked #6 in the nation against the run, so I don't see Goodson or Lane doing much on the ground against Connor, Lee, and Co. to change that stat very much.

Is Texas A&M going to a) come out running the option again (yawn), b) give it to Lane or c) try and duplicate the 365 yard passing effort against Texas? I don't think the 'win this one for Fran' mentality (if there is one) will help much in this one.

I think the offense will open up quite a bit now that Koenig is controlling the offense. I still don't see A&M winning, but I'd be willing to bet it's a much closer game than most think.

first of all, anyone that says McGee can't pass never saw him in HS and didn't watch him destroy UT's secondary this year. They can pass. It will depend on which A&M O shows up. The silly HS looking option that Fran ran.....A&M will get destroyed....they show up, open up the play book, pass the ball around, mix it up, pound w/ Lane/Goodson....A&M has a shot.

:clap: i agree completly. a&m has just as much talent as anyone else in the country, fran just never used it. mixing the deep pass with lane in the middle and goodson to the outside could work nicely. kinda simulate the pro style offense that sherman will probably bring next year.

McGee COULD pass. Anyone that says he can now is blind. He drops back and has no patience in the pocket and just takes off or throws a poorly thrown ball. Not his fault though he hasnt thrown in 3 years.

he does seem to have little patience, but like you said, the poor guy probably never threw balls in practice due to frans lack of anykind of intelligence..

i bet that changes in the alamo bowl and next year, McGee is a great quarterback, i remember cussing when he left burnet and went to college station bc i knew we (UT) were screwed for the next 4 years.

Yeah Its def not his fault im sure they ran option drills all day. His mechanics are very bad in the pocket and that has to be due to lack of not ever being in the pocket.

I don't have to tell you. You'll be able to see for yourself next year when the Aggies are finally in a decent offensive scheme. Reggie didn't look very good either his senior year when Fran switched to this offense.

I see your point. While I'm not saying McGee is a horrible passer, I AM saying that he won't be able to pass against PSU's secondary. It all starts with the run, which A&M will not be able to establish against Dan Connor's defense. Therefore, McGee won't be able to have much success through the air.

psu's pass defense is one of the worst in the league i see a high scoring game and the ags loose a heart breaker but mcgee will prove he can still pass

On the flip side, Texas A&M's pass defense is ranked 104th in the nation. I can also see potential for a high scoring game, but I can't call it likely. Maybe you're right though and A&M does make a game of this. We'll see in about an hour. Morelli is known for making bad decisions at times.

They have got to make a change at QB next year. Mcgee cannont throw the football anymore. Also, if your gonna run teh option and run with your qb all the time, why not put in a RUNNING qb that you have sitting on the sidelines? McGee is a tough sob and a good leader, but he is not a good qb. Not even close. JJ, Lane, and Goodson in teh backfield would be pretty sick.
