From what I gather its because Pittsburg and Gilmer are in the same district and the game was suppose to be in Pittsburg and they didnt want Roosevelt coming with a chance of some Gilmer people showing up.

Gilmer and Pburg are in different districts but Gilmer is within an hour of Pburg so probably a good call

Why would anyone from Gilmer show up?

Gilmer didn't start the fight and, from what I gathered, wanted no part of it. I don't get this at all.

Pittsburg's an hour away if you drive REALLY slow. Driving the speed limit you can get there in less than 20 minutes.
