Tony Franklin was most recently the OC at Troy University. His offense, the Tony Franklin System is used by MANY HS teams in Texas.

Will be interesting to see how Auburn does with it.

nope...thats what a lot of people think when they hear his name.....

THIS Tony Franklin used to be the OC at Kentucky and then moved on to Troy and is now at Auburn. Im guessing he will still coach Troy in their Bowl game or maybe not.

There are some Texas Schools running his offense. And when I say running his offense I mean same terminology, plays etc...

New Caney
Lone Oak
Royse City
Canton
Crandall
Mabank
Sulphur Springs
Boling
Ballinger
Colleyville-Heritage
Hoover (Alabama)

Im sure there are many more but these are just a few that come to mind

considering he came through Kentucky...is his system a tweak of the Hal Mumme/Mike Leach "Air Raid" offense?

Maybe he wasn't "offensive" enough.

FYI: He's coaching Auburn in the Peach Bowl. His duties at Troy have already been reassigned, as he's already on Tubbs' staff.

I was thinking that would be the case as I saw his pic and bio already on the Auburn site but I also didnt see any changes on the Troy site.

It's gonna be interesting. TxChallenge and I were talking about it the other day, and Auburn has a whole slew of stud QB's waiting for playing time, especially true frosh Kodi Burns. He's already second on the depth chart, ahead of redshirt freshman Neil Caudle, who was an Elite 11 QB out of HS, and junior Blake Field.

Top that off with tons of young talent at WR, the Franklin/Auburn marriage could be a great one. I'm a little sad that we're getting away from smashmouth football, but as long as we're winning I can live with it.

Aren't they going to run the new offense in the bowl game?

Believe or not, they're giving it a shot. It won't be the full playbook, but it'll be interesting to watch.

And Adidas, we only scored 28+ three times this year, and each time resulted in a win. It may take more than that next year, but I guess we'll see.
