what's yours?

in 1996, the defending state champions from Celina lost in the second round to Italy

even more impressive (or 'upsetting') was the score

17-0

this was also the last time Celina was shut out

We've had a few (both ways). But the run we had in 2004 when we won State, not many people expected us to beat Canyon, or Cuero for the championship that year. The year before we came back to beat Defending State Champion Everman with a sophomore at QB (Keenum). That was huge.

in 1999 Baytown Sterling who had not been to the playoffs since 1985 (still hasnt) went to Katy and defeated the then number 1 in the state/nation Katy Tigers 28-25 in front of a sellout crowd (99% Katy fans) on their homefield for their homecoming...at the time they hadn't lost in 35 straight regular season games (yes, thats right the seniors had never seen them lose a regular season game)....talk about a shocker, i think Sterling was a 42 point underdog in the Chronicle if I remember right, one of the most exciting and thrilling games I ever watched....Katy kids were crying, it was great...haha, the only other game they lost that year was the State Championship game
