same thing every year....

"This is rediculous...."

"They have no idea what they are talking about"

"How did we not have anyone on the first team?"

TRIVIA QUESTION: Can anyone name the year where there were little to no complains about the All-State Selections?

I hope Chris Thompson from Castleberry is on there somewhere.

AP All-State Team- Regular Season performances only considered (supposedly)

TSWA All State Team- Regular Season and Post Season performance considered

who makes the selections? Media, coaches? Thanks.

I think it's pretty obvious who should win 3A Coach of the Year.

in most cases the Media is to nominate players....

What happens usually is Head Coaches will get with their local media and try to get them to moninate their players. Then the Media votes I believe

there is not a Coach of the Year on the AP All-State Team I do not believe. That is only in the TSWA All-State team

If Coach Vance at Liberty Hill doesn't win it this year, something is definitely wrong.

Well, if it were up to me, I'd have the coaches vote and not allow them to vote for their own players.

Call me a homer, but I'm going with Jimmie Mitchell of Sealy or Brent Maesheck of Columbus.

Remarkable turnaround in their seasons.

*I tend to want to give the CoY award to the HC of the team that showed the most progress and turned around the most from the previous season. I don't like to give it to the HC that wins the SC...like a lot of people do.*

I agree on that

I think I would fall somewhere in the middle. I agree that it shouldn't automatically go to the winner of the state championship. But I also wouldn't give it to a team that was winless 2 years ago and won 4-5 games this year without advancing in the playoffs. (by the way, I have no idea what the records of Sealy or Columbus were) I would look for a team that went much deeper in the playoffs than they were ever expected to.

Who is that team this year? Is it China Springs?

Mark Bell should get it this year.

Well...guys...have to remember..

IF, and I say IF the AP poll were to have a Coach of the Year it would have to follow the same format they use to choose the players and that would be by REGULAR SEASON PERFORMANCE ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!

I can see why the AP wouldn't vote on a coach of the year because you'd have several undefeated teams to have to choose a coach from.
