Even though I am sure that there will be names on there that I am a fan of, I hope that every athlete on the list is removed from the game and any records they hold are wiped from the books.

A good number of pitchers will be on the report. Then we can throw out the ludicrous claims by some to "strike everything from the record books" that took place in the "steroid era."

i see lots of lawsuits coming from this...a lot of reputations will be hurt, and some players who have lucrative endorsements could also feel the heat. stupid to release a HEARSAY report. on that note, The Players Union did nothing to help the process become more thorough. YIKES, Sportscenter is gonna be round the clock with all this.

I think Norm on the Ticket said it best...

There will be 62 names in this list report supposedly...

when the MLB did that field test where they tested everyone for steroids just to see the percentage of players on Steroids at that given time over 100 players tested positive on that ONE TEST...THAT ONE DAY!

Typical terrible handling of this by Selig

He should have just came out and said u know what, we as baseball messed up and we take the blame as a whole, now lets clean it up and move on

BUT by him requesting this report, it will only drag baseball thru the mud that much more, and wont put an end to this because it is a report that will have no 100% true facts, a bunch of he says/she says

I was hoping and praying that no current Tigers would be on

Maybe Rafael Palmeiro was on to something when he said he believed he had received a tainted needle from Miguel Tejada...still don't think that Raffy didn't know what he was doing, but he called out Tejada years ago and nobody seemed to notice that Tejada's production immediately slipped.

so is anything going to happen to any of these guys.

heck i dont really care...but it would suck for the stros if they traded 5 guys for 1 (tejada) and he gets in trouble for it (suspension)

Saw Prior's name in the list posted in this thread. Now this one would be pretty humorous to me because if I remember correctly, Jack McDowell had said in the past that he thought Prior's injuries were the result of using steroids. I remember Prior raking him over the coals for making that insinuation.

Looks like his assumption might possibly be right.

Actually, Tejada's numbers haven't slipped at all, until last year when he broke his wrist.

The list I posted in a seperate thread are the names listed in the PDF file (on ESPN.com) of the report. Each name I listed includes a "back story" of evidence against the player. There were other players left out of the report because there wasn't "substantial evidence" against them...and many of them are on your list.

Mitchell says that "every team" has a player involved in drugs, but there's not a single current Texas Ranger on any of those lists!

I honestly expected to see a couple of them somewhere, but kudos to the Rangers for (at least right now) having a clean clubhouse!

(I know that GMJ, Jerry Hairston Jr., Gagne, etc. played for the Rangers, but I'm talking about current players)

The whole asterisk thing is stupid to begin with. Either put them on all the records from this era or just don't worry about it in the first place because it's obvious everybody in baseball is a roid monkey these days. Pro baseball has turned into a joke now because of this and let's be honest with ourselves...MLB is lame anyways compared to any other pro sport except for NASCAR. Just look at the attendance numbers of the games. Does anyone really care? Honestly? I'm not trying to be rude but does it suprise anyone at all?

Either put them on all the records from this era or just don't worry about it in the first place because it's obvious everybody in baseball is a roid monkey these days. Pro baseball has turned into a joke now because of this and let's be honest with ourselves...MLB is lame anyways compared to any other pro sport except for NASCAR. Just look at the attendance numbers of the games. Does anyone really care? Honestly? I'm not trying to be rude but does it suprise anyone at all?

I seriously hope you were being sarcastic there...just look at the attendance numbers...NASCAR is the biggest draw of them all!

And on bad days, baseball draws more than basketball or hockey...they just have bigger stadiums so they look less crowded.
