View Full Version : Big Russ: why did Al Borges resign at Auburn?
Russ: any scoop as to why? Tuberville gets a new deal & Borges resigns? Always liked him. Health or what?
Thanks.

No clue, but from everything I read it sounded like his hand may have been forced. There's no question the offense hasn't been a bright spot in recent years, but I thought he did a decent job. It sounds like one of those deals where his hand may have been forced.

Maybe he has another job lined up.

Wow, talk about a 180. They hired Tony Franklin, OC from Troy today. Troy's just up the road, so I'm guessing Franklin and Tubbs already knew each other. Completely different offensive style, though. Franklin runs a wide open offense. Borges used to during his Pac-10 days, but settled into a pro style when he got to Indiana.

It's Official: Franklin to Install Spread at Auburn (http://blog.al.com/breaking/2007/12/its_official_franklin_brings_s.html)
That's right. And apparently, he starts with the Peach Bowl.

That's right. And apparently, he starts with the Peach Bowl. That offense wil be really generic.

Hell, I'm excited. If Kentucky get into the top ten win with a similar offense, I'm anxious to see what Auburn can do.
I guess anxious might be a better word. Part of me is scared, the other part thinks we might do some good things.
