Pimp C funeral set for Thursday
Texas rapper Pimp C's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bob Bowers Civic Center, 3401 Cultural Center Dr., according to a spokesperson at the Port Arthur Convention & Visitor's Bureau.
He will then be buried at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3900 Twin City Highway, about a mile from the Civic Center.
Pimp C, whose real name was Chad Butler, was found dead Dec. 4 in a West Hollywood hotel room. He was 33 years old.
He is best-known as one-half of pioneering hip-hop duo UGK. The group's recent single, Int'l Player's Anthem (I Choose You), was nominated for a Grammy last week for best rap performance by a duo or group.
