The LH offense has 3 running backs.. you can stop one or two but the 3rd will break your back... Clint Gavin is the star tonight...

I am impressed with LH defense as they have palyed solid and only two plays where defense left a reciever open. offensively LH using all their downs to move the chains. LH made a good adjustment as Pleasanton is playing the run and called a pass play and td to open receiver.

Actually, I read about two days of the the crap you spewed all the way up until the clock expired, day after day after day. I quit readin it after that. I saw no sence in wasting my time responding to the immature bickering that was going on then. Was that fun for you? personally I don't enjoy it. Thus I stay out of it.

Yea, I do find it interesting that YOU shot your mouth off all week long and now that I point out to you, that you were neither right nor funny, you call my posts a joke on me?

Why don't you go back and count the numerous post YOU made. Campare them to mine. I think( if you can add), that you and a couple of others were the ones spouting pages and pages of garbage.

In order for your accusations hold water, I would have at first have to said. "See I told you so". I didn't. You dug the hole your in, not me. So now there's a joke on me. I don't think so.

Maybe this week you'll decide to choose your words a little more carefully. But I highly doubt it. Nuff said.

And if there's ever anyone who thinks a team deep in the playoffs doesn't have a chance to win, look at all the upsets that have happened recently. Pflugerville over Longview, Abilene High over SLC, Lake Travis over Calallen are just a few.

I want to give our defense some love. These guys have done a tremendous job this season and last night was no exception. First team D, for the third time this season, got a shut out, with the only points coming late in the game on 2nd/3rd team. If not for a 56 yd pass with :04 left on the clock, the entire D would've had it last night. Including that 56 yarder, they held Pleasanton to 126 yards TOTAL and got two interceptions. That's something special, regardless of the opponent. Great job, guys!

All Panther players had a phenomenal game and you should be proud of yourselves. Great job by the FRESHMAN QB in the 4th qtr.

And for # 74 (and # 56)....GREAT game! That big ole All-Stater # 68 had no clue what he was up against! :inlove: :inlove:

Glad to hear Vance played all players in a blow out. Not only is it the smart thing to do, its the right thing to do.

I listened to much of the game, and a "blow out" doesnt seem to describe it. Sounds like the LH defense is even better than late last year. That makes them very scary. You SHOULD be proud of the boys...very proud.

I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier, but Clint Gavin deserves the "heart" award for last nights' performance. Wednesday night, he could barely walk, after injuring his knee (kneecap popped out of place  ). To rush for 121 yards and 4 TD's was amazing.

As I said to all of you boys earlier - Panthers: Heart of a Champion. Clint, you proved that last night!

In any case, glad to hear he is doing it now. Wimbo_pro, I'm going to stand up for Coach Vance. I attended 7 LH games since 2004 and each time the Panthers have had the game well in hand he has substituted freely with his players.

ProudHornetMom

I've only seen one LH game - against Navasota. Coach Vance freely substituted that game as well. LH is a strong program with a strong depth of players.

It's not fun being on the losing side and watching the score rise but it is football and it is about having more points than the other team. Is there a magic number that is politically correct to obtain but one point more is running up the score? How many substitutions is politically correct and which substitution makes it a blow out. Coaches want players to play hard and make each play perfect. For the players who may not be a regular starter, you tell them to work hard and beat out other players...only to get in a blow out game and say back off and not play as hard so the score won't get out of hand....I don't think so. Each play is as important as the previous one and you play all out all the time...hopefully.

I understand in junior high, pulling off because of pre-adolescent egos but in high school, it's time to gut check and suck it up. If your're down by much you have to look at trying to just be successful in each play and move on.

Wow...I'm a tad touchy on this subject today. That's what I get for skipping church today and being online.

I agree completely. LH is a well oiled machine from start to finish. Their off season strength and conditioning program is evident for all the players. They are all strong, execute well and don't wear out. They don't have a player that doesn't know the scheme and how to play it. Having a two platoon plan helps as well. If I remember, there was only one or two players who played both offense and defense. They also show that confidence that their program will work and their team mates know their job so it all comes together. In some of the other post district games, you could see panic in coaches and players and it seemed panic plays were just grabbed out of nowhere. LH stays true to their philosophy and basically just runs it at you and over you...over and over again.

I kept thinking, surely there's a weak link somewhere with LH but for the life of me, I don't know what it would be...unless it's punting just because it's a rare thing.

R4Editor

to play with LH it seems your best chance to beat or stay in the game is win the battles up front, otherwise your in for a long game.

I know some people from Liberty Hill and we have talked about this. From what they have said, every Varsity player (and their parents) is told (when they "make" Varsity) that they will have a job to do each and every game. Their job might be on special teams, it might be mop-up duty, but they all have a job. There is no guarantee of lots of play-time, but players are not put on Varsity to ride the bench the entire season. Any player putting in the work during practice will see the field, maybe not EVERY game, but they will play.

The requirement to earn a football letter at Liberty Hill is to have PLAYED in 16 quarters during the season. There is not a Varsity player since Vance has been there, that has finished the season without earning that letter (that they recall). I would think that kids playing in 16 quarters would indicate that he does either substitute or makes certain that every player is on the field when it is time for them to do their job.

I found them boring.

Nuff said. sir...get your panties out of your butt crack. Everyone but YOU seems to realize that Russ and I were just having fun, and trying to generate a little excitement for a Pleasanton team that had nobody representing them here. Everyone but YOU seemed to get it and therefore play along. Lighten up.

BDR ~ where's the love??? Didn't you learn your lesson with Pleasanton? LH's players and fans are really nice why would you bet against us everytime? I don't know if I would want you to change it b/c it apparently is working well for us. Keep your prediction ... :hand:

I heard from that Nico was begging for the panthers to let them score just once...somewhere in the 3rd or 4th quarter.
