I had the pleasure of watching the Vernon-Snyder game with a couple of ex-Lions that are now the head coach (Chris) and OC (Ken) at Abilene Christian. Chris played TE at TCU and first base on their baseball team when they went to the college world series. I think he led the SWC in hitting and home runs. He later signed a professional baseball contract with the A's. Ken was the QB on our 16-0 1990 State Champs and also led Central Ark. to a Div. 3 national championship as a starting QB his freshmen year. Both are outstanding guys. I have one awesome daughter who is at TCU on academic scholarship, but if I were a parent with an athlete that might fit in that Div 2 category, I would have no problem turning them over to those guys. They would learn more than just how to play football. If any of you know players that have slipped through the Div 1 cracks send me a PM. Oh, and by the way, they seemed very impressed with Will Clay.
