I haven't seen Vernon play this year, but they seem like they are more of a 2nd half team.

Saw Snyder when we played them before district, we stopped Clay completely and held Day to an average day, and came out with a 24-21 win.

Canyon always has a good team. We although have had trouble stopping the running game all year. We had trouble with Clyde, Burkburnett and Graham (Who ran over 250 yards on us).

I knew it would be tough to stop Snyder's rushing attack. We haven't been able to do that yet. Our offense is good also so maybe we can hang with these guys somewhat. But we have to have a stop. Period. The defense has to get a turnover and get some stops.

One note: I do not think that Snyder has 1 penalty.

That was the best game our defense played all season, we threw the ball on Snyder pretty well though.

We also had trouble stopping the run, Burk ran all over us in the first round

Celina might have a problem with this Clay kid. He sounds a lot like Vernon's Chedrick Ricks who just ran for miles. I thought our defense would do better than giving up 300 yards to one guy. Celina has a better offense than Vernon and a much better defense so I think Celina wins by a touchdown or two but it will be a great game. Might have to make that one.

Yeah, it could be a good one. We have never been beaten by a one horse team yet but there is always a first time. This Clay kid sounds tough. I think the Wright kid from Pittsburg is more explosive and harder to contain because of his speed. But alot of it depends on execution in the trenches.
Snyder probably has the better line.

I hope so. I actually think that AW has a chance with their D. Gilmer has not played a top d yet. Gilmer's D is a top 20 D but their O is tops period. Your D is top 10 and can probably get some stops. If your O can play enough keep away and keep Gilmer's D on the field you have a real good chance.

I dont know how many tackles Will Clay broke tonight, but it seemed like 2 or 3 on every play. The kid isnt all that big, but he must be strong as a bull. Also, Vernon just wasnt wrapping up. Clay ate the Vernon D up and spit them out.
Vernon's O looked very good at times also, but just couldnt keep pace with Snyders O.
All in all, this was a very good ballgame!

Actually Massey's had this game as a pickem with Snyder having a .3 advantage. It was not an underdog situation.
