When was the first year of OT in Texas HS football?

I'm thinking it was 1993 or 1994. I know they didn't have it in 1992.

I know our first OT game was in '96 vs. La Marque. Not sure if that was the first year though.

i know this was one of the few rules that was adopted from kansas high school teams by the ncaa...i think back in 96, since we play by ncaa rules here in texas, im going to say 96?

It was 96 because my high school had a game end in a tie in 1995. We played our first OT game in 1996 against Cameron and lost.

yeah I just checked and I found a tie in 1995...so I guess it was 96...
