I finally completed the 3rd classification back to the inception of the 5 class system in 1951. Let me know of any errors and I will correct them.

I realize that there are many districts and many years in which there were 2, 3 or even 4 district co-champs, tri-champs, etc. officially proclaimed but this is a table of the team that got the top seed for each district going in to the playoffs, or in other words, this is a table of teams that would have qualified for the playoffs if the 1 team per district rule (pre-1982) was still in effect.

Dark Red - Far West Texas
Green - Panhandle
Purple - West Central Texas
Brown - North Texas
Sky Blue - East Texas
Dark Blue - Central Texas
Light Red - Southeast Texas
Orange - South Texas

I remember when Greenwood/Lamesa was a huge rivalry game!!

Lamesa kept their winning percentage above 0.500 up until 1995.... they were district champs in 4A several times as well prior to dropping down to 3A

I noticed that Vernon had 9 straight from 89 to 97. I wonder if anybody else has done that? I tried to look but got frustrated.
